Livelihoods / Livelihoods India

Livelihoods India Conference

Organizing Thematic Retreats will be a new initiative that will start in 2010. These Retreats will take up issues linked to livelihoods of the poor and bring out key recommendations for the sector. It will draw resource persons from diverse experiences such as NGOs, academic institutions, government, apex institutions, promotional agencies, donors, private sector, etc. The idea is to bring together a pool of thought leaders (about 25) to meet together periodically (about 4 Retreats a year) and delve on one issue in some detail. These meetings will be held at a national as well as regional level.

Prior to each Retreat, a thematic brief will be prepared by ACCESS, and post the discussions, the conclusions / recommendations will be assimilated and shared with related key stakeholders. The outcome of these Retreats will seek to inform and influence policy, help to identify gaps in programme delivery, propose solutions on challenging constraints.
